If your relationship with food, weight, or your body has been hard, the people below have spent careers helping with exactly that. Reaching out is not an overreaction. It's a smart move.

Therapists and mental health.
Body stuff is rarely just body stuff. If something underneath the goal keeps shaping it in ways you don't want, that's a thing to work on with a person, not a chatbot.

A doctor.
If you have a medical condition, are recovering from one, are pregnant or postpartum, take medication that affects exertion, or just haven't been seen in a while, a primary care visit is the right starting line.

A registered dietitian.
Look for credentials. RD or RDN means registered dietitian and registered dietitian nutritionist, both real licensed professions. "Nutritionist" alone is unregulated in many states and means whatever the person says it means.

A physical therapist.
If you have an injury, a flare, a recent surgery, or pain that won't leave, a PT can do diagnostics and prescribe loading we can't. In most US states you can see a PT directly without a doctor's referral.

A human trainer or coach.
We can write you a plan. A coach can watch you do the plan, fix the rep that's quietly wrecking your back, and adjust in real time. If you've got a complicated body, a complicated history, or you just learn faster with eyes on you, hire a person.
Check the credentials. The major US certifications worth recognizing: NSCA-CPT, CSCS, ACE-CPT, NASM-CPT, ACSM-CPT.
